Kiron's Shallow Hal Blog Post #1

When it comes to me, I am a person who follows his heart. Of course, looks do come into play when I'm looking for a girl who I want to spend the rest of my life with, but why be so shallow as to look for only looks, physically speaking, in a woman? I just can't do that. Every woman needs to be loved by someone, especially someone of the other gender, that is my view on how I live my life. I can't be as shallow as Hal was in the movie because that isn't fair to the other woman out there who aren't as good looking as the next one. I am glad that Hal got hypnotized by Tony Robbins because it made him realize that looks aren't everything. Inner beauty is probably the best attribute a girl can have, but like I said before, outer beauty is a plus as well!

At the beginning of the film, Hal was a "stud", meaning he only went for the good looking women and shunned the rest of them out of his life. He truly was a shallow character, probably because he wanted to live up to his father's expectations. I'm not blaming his father for this, but maybe if Hal's father didn't tell Hal to look only on the outside appearance for women, maybe Hal wouldn't be the way he was in the beginning. Thanks to Tony Robins, however, Hal was only able to see the inside of women, which what brought him to Rosemary. Her inner beauty was absolutely stellar, but her outer appearance made people run and laugh at her. Of course, Hal didn't see her outer appearance until the hypnotism was off, and Hal realized that he loved Rosemary for who she was and not for what she was. This transformation was definitely for better because it made Hal realize that judging women from their outward appearance is something that made other women look down on him.
