Blog Post # 2 - Kramer vs. Kramer -- Anna Balch

Blog Post #2
Joanna did nothing wrong.  She deserves custody of her child. With that said I still  don't think they should take Ted Kramer out of the child's life.  That is just unfair.  Joanna just walked out without explanation to the child and I think that it will take some time for the child to get used to having his mother back in his life.  While it was very difficult on the child for his mother to just leave, explaining wouldn't have helped much because he wouldn't have understood. When she randomly shows up in his life again that was a little crazy.  She needs to ease back into it in a sense.  She can't just leave in a second and then show up again and expect to have him for herself.  Again, I think they should work something out where they both can have custody of him. At this time primary care should go to Ted because that is what the child has gotten used to.  To much change can be a little much at a time like this. When his mother left he was confused, then again when she was supposed to get him back and again when she said she wasn't going to take him.  He needs stability.

Ted Kramer could have listened more in order to be a better husband.  He should have been more willing to change and show her he can be a better person. I think that Ted deserves custody of his child but I don't think Joanna does deserve custody. I don't disagree with the way she left but I think because she left and was out of his life for so long that in order to not confuse the child to much he should stay with Ted.  Really though, they both deserve custody.  Ted was not the greatest father at first and then when he was faced with adversity he changed.  I think that it is terrible he had to have a wake up call in order to actually be a good father but I don't think that that should deny him custody.
