Shallow Hal ~ Nora Good

At the beginning of the film, Hal completely chooses women based on their looks and not their personalities. He is a mouse because he is shallow and doesn't care about anything other than looks. When he goes in the elevator with the love guru and gets a spell put on him so that he sees the inside of women not the outside he starts meeting beautiful people all around. When he meets Rosemary, he completely falls in love with her personality, and what he thinks are her looks. Under the spell, he sees a skinny beautiful lady, while the reality of it is that she is overweight

Throughout her whole life, Rosemary has never been called beautiful. she has a very low self esteem so when Hal calls her beautiful she doesn't believe him. In the movie, Rosemary gets whispered about and abused because of her weight because no one sees how beautiful on the inside. In the Burger shop, it was a perfect example of how random people were mean to her because of how she looked on the outside. The more Hal tells her she is beautiful, the more she feels beautiful. she starts the movie wearing very covering, non-flattering clothes and as her self esteem raises, she starts wearing things that show off more of her body. Hal stands up for her beauty because he sees beauty and then when the spell wears off and he sees the real her, he continues to stand up for her because he knows her inner beauty
