I think Ted Kramer did a great job at being a single father. With Joanna’s unexpected departure he was kind of given a crash course in parenting; and over the two years of taking care of Billy on his own he did a great job, and I made him a better person. H wasn’t the best father in the beginning; he had little patience with Billy.  But as time went on he learned how to have patience with his son, and he learned how to discipline fairly, and firmly. Because Ted was a single father he also had to balance work and his home life, which made it harder for him. It was difficult for him at first, but he was able to keep a job, after being let go from his original one and balance taking care of Billy. When Joanna took care of Billy she didn't have to balance work, and being a mother. So Ted's job as a single father was almost more difficult than Joanna's job of being a stay at home mother. Overall Ted was a great single father, he adjust quickly to the life, and even under the stress of work, adjusting to living with only his son, and eventually divorce he always made sure Billy was cared for and loved.
