Kramer VS Kramer #2- Travis J Wallace

What I know is that Joanna felt like Teds work was more important to him than her or thier marriage. To me it seemed like Ted was just working to support his family and to also secure himself a position in his field that people would kill for. I do understand Joanna’s pain of feeling neglected and maybe even unwanted and Ted should have listened to Joanna when she tried to talk to him about how she felt. The relationship they had, should have been a 50/50 effort. Joanna must have felt she was giving the relationship all she could up to the point where she felt it was necessary for her to leave. Ted was not understanding the fact that he needed to keep his Job a priority to get where he wanted to go professional wise, but he also had to keep his family as one of the most important and priceless things close to him. Without a doubt I think Ted loved his wife but he did not love her where it truly mattered. Ted did not give her all of his love and he might have thought the love he was not giving Joanna he would make it up with the work he was doing to provide for her and Billy. Ted needed to love her, lead her and listen to her as well. There love was supposed to be a commitment but neither were a hundred percent in by the time the end was approaching.

After Joanna left, ted began to take on the roles she once filled. Ted did not understand or know how easy or hard it was to help Billy along throughout his days. As time went on Ted realized his son requires time and that time cuts into something he worked hard for and that was his work. The roles he took on opened his eyes to what it takes to raise a child. So I do believe that ted does deserve custody on his six year old son because of all he experienced once Joanna left. The bond they formed from cooking breakfast in the morning to Ted reading Billy his stories shows how close they have grown and how much Ted loves to be beside Billy, and how Billy loves to be by his dads’ side.
