At the beginning of the movie Hal was well... shallow. He didn't really care abou what anyone was like on the inside, as long as they had a nice face an a nice body that was good enough for him. Even when he had the spell over him he still was sort of shallow. Every girl wih a good pesonality looked beautiful to him so he thought he was picking up hot chicks and the good personalities were jus a bonus. Until he mees Rosemary, to him Rosemary looks like a beautifuly skinny blond ane he likes that. Then he gets to know her and the realizes her personality is just as beautiful as she seems to be. So even if she was attractive to him that didn't matter to him. All he cared about was she was a great girl and he loved her. Then when he finds out what she really looks like it take time for him to adjust but he in the end he dosn't care he still loves her. So in the end Hal changes for the better. He realizes that a good personality is what makes a person beautiful.
