Serah Hal Response 2

Provide an analysis of how Hal was at the beginning of the film and the man he became at the end of the film. Describe his transformation and whether you think it was better or worse.

At the beginning of the film Hal only saw what he wanted to see, he saw appearences and if they werent up to his standards he looked the other way without having any remorse or regret for the other person. Fter getting stuck in the elevator with the guru he had a whole new out look on life. He started seeing people for what they harbored on the inside. Although he had a new view of life it still didnt change his actions, he slept with the first "beautiful" woman he seen and he partied with these "beautiful" women with the intentions of sleeping with them, he tought it was luck that these women were paying attention to him so he wanted to milk all he could because even though he had high standards he wasnt at the top of anyone elses list which would make you think he would be more compassionate but he wasnt. Hal's transformations did not start happening until he met Rosemary. While spending so much time with her he had to figure her out because of her insecuritiy problems, which made him find the beauty in her personality instead of just her "looks."  As people had concerns about his relationship with Rosemary, his best friend even referring to her as a cow, he didnt care he fought for her because of how he felt. As the movie reached its end Hal no longer had the ability to be blind to other's apperances. When Hal realized how he felt for Rosemary after all the trouble he did not to see her for who she truly was, he ran for her he had an empihany and it no longer mattered what he thought she looked like. When Hal finally met Rosemary at her going away party at her parents house he still thought she was beautiful because he still seen that beautiful person that he had gotten to know for however long the course of the movie takes place. That when Hal's transformation was complete.
