Kramer vs. Kramer - Bryanna Adams

The child shouldn’t have to pay for the mistakes their parents make nor should they suffer because their parents don’t get along. The parents should try to keep a relationship so that they’re both up to date on what’s happening with the child. I think both parents need to be open-minded and think about what is best for the child and put aside their own selfish needs. The worst thing a parent can do during a divorce is bad-mouth the other parent behind their back TO the kid. That’s what my dad would do about my mom when they were going through the process. Honestly, that made me resent my father even more rather than side with him. Another way to lessen the pain is to ask the child who they want to live with. They should also have decent visitation rights for the other parent so the child doesn’t lose that connection. Lastly, the mother, father, and child(ren) should all spend a little time together at once so that the kid can spend time with both parents.
