What did you think of the job that Ted did taking care of Billy by himself?

At the begining of the movie Ted was involved in his work alot and had no time for hi son/wife. When his wife left him he had to take care of  Billy bye himself while he is working . At first he wasn't doing a good job becuase his wife use to do all the cooking, cleaning and takeing care of Billy. But then he started to do a better job and he missed his work to by his son side.
So I really think he did a great job taking care of Billy by himself.
