Shallow Hal response
If I looked at who I am today with who I am, I know I am someone who follows their head, because I am a person who will over analyze and miss their chance looks at the possible responses and consequences instead of grabbing onto a feeling and going with it. I feel if Hal used his head, he would have not been as romantic or spontaneous because he would have missed his window or talked himself out of joining her on the Peace Corps.
Now to look over how Hal was thought the film. At the start of the film Hal was a young boy who seemed to believe in love, then his father’s dying words changed how he would view relationships, he was as the title says shallow and he cared only for how a women looked and he did not pay attention at all to how they were as a person. The end of the movie had him as a changed man who cared for the women as a person, this is show when he goes on a date with his neighbor and finds out he actually cares for and misses Rosemary. This transformation is seen as the movie progresses by him being a generally good guy and sticking with Rosemary. Personally I think it was for the better because a pretty face can last only for so long, but the person underneath is what keeps the relationship alive.
