Hal is a mouse, he wants women that are way out of his league. It's hard to believe someone as smart as Hal that he would know how to choose women, but i guess everybody goes through phases. Hal just happen to bump into someone who can fix all of those problems. which in the end works out in Hal favor because he didn't need to see to a woman he wanted, Hal got a real woman. Which turned Hal into a man.
