Shallow Hal Responses

Hal is a very indecisive and dependent man. He relies on the support of his friend to a woman's true beauty.  In the beginning of the movie, Hal depended on his best friend, Mauricio, to approve of the ladies Hal wanted to talk to. If Mauricio didn't approve, then it that was Hal's final decision. Throughout the movie, Hal started to change, not only because the spell granted upon him, but because he needed to be a real man. He finally realized by the end of the movie that a real woman isn't just beautiful on the outside, but also the inside. Hal needed to distance himself from Mauricio to understand that. It took him a while, but he finally understood that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 

I have always been taught to follow my heart. Nothing or no one just consist of an exterior. There is an inside to everyone, and I have examine both the inside and out when evaluating it. When it comes to people, my honest evaluation is first physical features. If someone is physically attractive, then they will grab my attention. The next thing I look for is if the person has a good personality and a good heart. Looks can always be deceiving, that is why though they are priority on my list, their insides have to be even better than their looks. I am personally a very emotional person, so if the person cannot deal with my personality and heart by being sympathetic and caring, then they are checked off of my list. Overall, looks play a major factor, but if only outside and no inside appearance exists, there is no hope.
