What could Ted Kramer have done diffrently to be a better husband or father? Do you think that Ted should get custody of his six-year-old son? Why or Why not? In the beginning of the movie Ted was consumed in his work life and everything else became secondary almost non existant. As Joanna Kramer dealt with depression, Ted could have payed more attentiona and could have been more concerned toward Joanna and her feelings Instead of viewing her as a machine or what his idea of a "wife" should be. With Ted ignoring his life at home, he is not only ignoring is wife but his six year old son, Billy. There is alot of things that Ted could and should have done differently, but when push came to shove and Joanna was not there for her six-year-old son Ted stepped up and took his responsibilities as a man and a father. When he found out that Joanna wanted custody of their son he had just lost his job but was determined to find a job within the twenty-four hour window he was given. One should not be judged for actions of the past but for their efforts to better themselves.
