Discuss Rosemary's self-image and how it develops as the film progresses. What are some pointers that you would give Rosemary if she was your best friend in regard to how she sees herself as a woman and how that vision may have influenced her romantic life in the movie.
In the beginning of the movie Rosemary had a very low self-esteem but as the film progressed and Hal showed her just how beautiful she really was, she started to open up she began danced happily amongst others. If Rosemary was my best friend I would tell her that she was a beautiful person, she was open hearted and didnt let what people thought of her stop her from doing what she wanted to do. She still ate whatever she wanted and she was in the peace corps and found happiness in making others feel good about themselves like the children in the hospital and all of that is what made her strong the fact that she decided to live no matter of who told her otherwise. When Hal showered Rosemary with compliments and she felt uncomfortable and got mad and tols him all of the nice things he had been telling him were lies, that showed how she shied away from relationships with people ewho wanted them with her. The problem is no one probably wanted it more than Hal, so they probably gave up on her because she had gave up on herself. She probably pushed away anyone who tried to get close to her, which effected her having a love life.
