In the beginning, Hal was
shallow, only caring about a woman's outer image. He was always going for woman
who were beautiful on the outside because he didn't care about anything else.
He was just trying to have sex with them and not have any other relations with
them.
After being under the "spell" and seeing all these beautiful women with great personalities, he believed that these women were actually beautiful inside and out through his perception of what outer beauty was. After the spell wore off, he saw these women who he had thought looked like models in their true form.
At the end, he turned out to be a good guy and he stopped thinking
about what a woman looked like.
I believe that this transformation was for the better because when
Hal was judging woman based on their looks, he was probably missing out on a
lot of beautiful woman because he never paid attention to what they were like
on the inside. I think that the transformation taught him to stop being
so judgmental and always see the beauty in people. Rosemary is
beautiful inside and out, and although it took Hal some time to come to his
senses, he realized that looks were only skin deep. This was good for him
because he finally learned the true meaning of beauty and love, because love
sees beyond what meets the eye.
The women he thought he saw who looked like models when he was
under the spell were just as beautiful because what and who they were was what
made them beautiful and in the end, he learned that, so the change in him was
for the better.
