I think ted could’ve shown Joanna more attention instead focusing on his work but every body makes mistakes and problems can be fixed with a little effort. I feel Ted should keep custody of Billy because he truly stepped up to the plate when things got rough, he read to Billy every night and even ran Billy to the emergency room when Billy fell off the jungle gym. Ted talked to Billy a lot and even lost his job because he had to go to Billy’s school for something a kid did to Billy which truly shows me Ted love Billy enough to leave work; even when Ted had a deadline to reach. Ted and Billy became best friends after Joanna left Billy with Ted, and I feel like Joanna thought Ted would be a bad father which wasn’t the case and Joanna used anything she could to take Billy away from Ted.
