Olivia Bates Shallow Hal Post 2

Question 3
At the beginning of this movie, we met Rosemary as a woman who was not confident and had a lot of self-image issues. She had a specific idea of how people should see her and she had accepted the negativity and expected it to come. But the day Hal came along, that all began to change. Once one person came along and told her she was better than all she had heard before, she started to believe it and became more and more confident. If I was a close friend of Rosemary’s, I would tell her that it doesn’t matter if anyone else thinks you’re beautiful, as long as you have enough confidence to think it yourself both on the inside and the out. I would also tell her that the most significant thing for a woman is not the image that everyone sees around you, but self-image.  If a woman does not believe in herself and how much she deserves, she will end up settling in the end and will set herself up for even greater hurt because people will take advantage of that low self esteem.
