Shallow Hal
Hal Analysis
Hal changed a lot in the movie. In the beginning he thought with his head. If he saw a hot girl he would go for it. It didn't always work out but he only wanted the hot girls. Then he was in the elevator with the love guru. He "cursed" him in a sense. Hal was shallow in the beginning. It took him time but he eventually changed. He didn't look at looks it was all about who the person was on the inside. He was nicer. In the beginning he was a jerk.
At the end of the movie he sees who his date really was. At first he was a jerk because he didn't realize it was her but he came back for her anyway. He loved her. It wasn't about looks. He truly was in love and he showed that. That was something he really didn't do in the beginning of the movie. He really changed for the better. Even though he is a movie character it was cool to see.
In the beginning of the movie, looks were all that mattered. While he didn't realize it, during the middle of the movie it was about traits and qualities that made someone attractive. At the end, looks didn't matter to him. He loved her for who she was. It really showed that he loved her when he joined the peace corp and went with her. He really did change.
