In my opinion Hal changed a lot and it was for the better because at the beginning he only wanted a girl for how she looked… he never got the chance to see what the girl was really about because what his father told him really stuck to him since he was a little boy. Then when he met that guy that is when he changed because he started to see the real beauty in women. Because he would see a girl who is really nice and she would be very pretty. His transformation was immense because of how he acted from beginning to end. At the end he finally saw and got convinced that the real beauty is inside not out, because outer beauty will fade but inner will never.
