At the beginning of the film Hal was a man never really thought too deeply about anything. He had no idea who he really was. All that Hal cared about were the way other people looked and it never went deeper than that. This changed when he met a guru who put Hal under a spell. It forced Hal to only see the way people looked on the inside. Soon after he met Rosemary and had a meaningful relationship for the first time in his life. This relationship changed him and the way he thought. Even when the spell came off, he was still able to think about the world more deeply. Hal was madly in love and had come to understand that physical beauty didn’t matter. His transformation made him into a better man and positively affected everyone around him
